Dems wrap up delegate voting

RENO-After hours of process, Nevada Democrats have elected their 26 delegates to the Democratic National Convention, scheduled for Aug. 25-28 in Denver.  The delegates are broken down according to congressional district with an additional six elected at-large and three party leaders and elected officials.

Dem. convention stretches into late evening

RENO-Although the speeches and delegate allocation were over in the early afternoon, the Nevada Democratic Convention lasted late into the evening Saturday with staffers and volunteers spending hours working to elect delegates to the national convention.

A morning that began with controversy over the finer points of convention process gave way to hours of tedium as delegates from Nevada's three congressional districts broke up into separate rooms at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno for self-nomination and voting for national delegates.

RENO-Due to Reid's press conference, it was only possible to catch the conclusion of actor Kal Penn speech in favor of Obama. Luckily for Penn, he wasn't asked to immediately follow Clinton.

Reid: Republican Party lacks soul, heart and head

RENO-U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid takes reporters' questions at the Nevada Democratic Convention.  Reid predicts that the Democratic primary will be over in two weeks and that the party will be able to come together against Republicans in the fall.

Reid also discusses Mass. Sen. Ted Kennedy's health, renews his pledge to remain neutral in the Democratic primary, and predicts that the Florida and Michigan delegates will be seated in Denver.
