Shea-Porter against impeaching Bush

DERRY- Congresswoman Shea-Porter told a town hall meeting that she does not support impeaching President Bush.

"No I do not support doing that at this point," Shea-Porter said at a meeting in Derry.

This week, a hearing is scheduled in Concord to discuss a bill that would urge the New Hampshire Congressional Delegation to support legislation that would impeach Bush and Vice-President Cheney.

Instead, Shea-Porter said residents should focus on tracking oversight hearings into the administration.

"Keep the pressure on by writing us and calling us."

Shea-Porter also discussed the recent contempt charges brought by the House of Representatives against White House Chief of Staff Josh Bolten and former White House counsel Harriet Miers.

"Congress really met this." She added, "This is a responsibility and obligation for them to show-up."
