Republican State Senator, and gubernatorial candidate, Joe Kenney told PolitickerNH.com he is "disappointed" that Manchester Mayor Frank Guinta has decided not to run for governor.
"I'm disappointed he's not running. I was looking forward to running against him because I think we need to get the Republican message out," said Kenney.
The Wakefield Republican added, "It's an unselfish act. He needs to focus on the business of Manchester."
Kenney brushed aside any suggestion he might dropout if another Republican enters the race.
"We haven't wavered. We've never said we're not running. We have the issues, the message and the campaign to be successful," said Kenney.
Kenney said he will be making an official announcement in late April and is heading down to Washington D.C. next week to meet with potential supporters.
