Day two of Shaheen tour

On day two of her "Middle Class Matters" tour, Senatorial candidate Jeanne Shaheen (D-Madbury) visited the Early Bird Café in Plaistow.

"Here in New Hampshire, families are struggling to afford the cost of everyday needs like gas, milk and home heating oil," Shaheen said in a press release. "They're also struggling to afford mortgage payments and college tuition.  They are getting squeezed at every turn."

Shaheen also said that Washington D.C. has "betrayed" New Hampshire residents.

"We need real change. Washington has betrayed middle class families. New Hampshire families need immediate action but Washington's response has been to sit and watch."

During her tour, Shaheen has been stressing a message that she says would reduce energy costs, make college more affordable, increase middle class tax cuts and reduce the costs of health care.
