Gilmour to run for state senate

Nashua health care worker Peggy Gilmour (D-Nashua) has decided to run for the state senate.

Yesterday, Wally Edge reported that Gilmour was contemplating a run for the upper-chamber.

Gilmour will run for David Gottesman's seat, who has decided not to seek re-election.

"I believe my background, commitment to the community, and years of bringing people together to tackle one of the greatest crises in America, health care, and care at the end of life will allow me to serve the district and New Hampshire well and to continue the dedication and leadership Dave Gottesman has shown," Gilmour said in a statement. "I am very excited to begin the campaign, go door to door to listen to my neighbors, and help move New Hampshire forward."

She was recently the President/CEO of Home Health & Hospice Care and is currently the co-chair of the Public Policy Committee of the New Hampshire Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.
