Conservative blogger wants Guinta to reconsider a run for gov, Guinta stands form

A New Hampshire blogger and Republican activist is attempting to get Manchester Mayor Frank Guinta to run for governor.

Republican activist Doug Lambert has begun a "Draft Guinta for Governor" movement. Lambert is also a blogger at the website "GraniteGrok."

"Guinta has shown the ability to re-couple the "spending = taxes" argument once taken for granted by a large majority of Granite Staters," Lambert wrote. "He also has that important quality any political aspirant must possess in the mass media age we live: name recognition."

Despite the last-minute push, Guinta is not planning to run for governor.

"Mayor Guinta is flattered by the calls, e-mails and public push for him to re-think his decision regarding his 2008 Gubernatorial bid. As he stated in his earlier announcement, he is focused on serving the citizens and voters of Manchester. He does however want to be part of the solution and feels it is imperative that we elect leaders that will defend the New Hampshire Advantage," wrote Guinta's political advisor Mike Biundo.
