CONCORD- Beginning at 8am candidates for state office began to file for office with the Secretary of State.

This year, congressional candidate Grant Bosse was the first candidate to file. Bosse showed up at State House at 6am, minutes before Commissioner Carol Holden. Holden was the first to file in 2006.

"I wanted to get up early and show that we'll be working harder than anyone for the seat," Bosse said.

The Registrars of Probate Court also showed-up bright-and-early to file.

"It's a unique experience," Barbara Luther said. Luther is [img_assist|nid=1890|title=The Registrars of probate courts|desc=|link=none|align=right|width=250|height=188]running for the Registrar of Deeds in Belknap County.

As promised, Senate Democratic candidates filled after they met for a private breakfast. The Democrats had 23 candidates file, Paul Dadek, a college professor, was unable to attend and will file at a later date.

"This is the first stop in what's going to be an expanding trip in the North Country," state Rep. Martha McLeod (D-Franklin) said. McLeod is competing for the Senate District One seat against state Sen. John Gallus.

After the Senate Democrats, the County Sheriffs filed along with most of the County attorneys.

Photos of the filing period will follow later.

Update: “In a year when voters are demanding change, New Hampshire Democrats have lined up a slate of Concord insiders hand-picked by [img_assist|nid=1891|title=Senate Democrats prepare to file|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=250|height=188]party bosses.  The same party bosses are using heavy-handed tactics to prevent primaries instead of letting voters choose.  The Democratic slate of state senate candidates does not represent the change voters are looking for this year," New Hampshire Republican Party Chairman Fergus Cullen said in a press release.
