Odell makes it official

CONCORD-State Sen. Bob Odell (R-Lempster) filed for re-election with the Secretary of State.

"This formalizes the decision and it's forward from here," Odell said.

Odell said that economic development, education spending and being "an effective voice for the region" will be his main campaign themes.

"We need to draw a final line on education funding."

Odell is running for his eight term. He is being challenged by state Rep. James Phinizy (D-Acworth).

The two are running for Senate District Eight which includes Acworth, Alstead, Charlestown, Claremont, Gilsum, Goshen, Langdon, Lempster, Marlow, New London, Newbury, Newport, Roxbury, Stoddard, Sullivan, Sunapee, Sutton, Unity, Walpole, Washington and Westmoreland.
