Obama planning to compete in Granite State

U.S. Sen. Barack Obama's deputy campaign manager says their campaign will have to "play hard" to win New Hampshire in November.

"We're going to have to play hard in New Hampshire - we completely recognize that," Steve Hildebrand told Politico's Ben Smith.

Hildebrand said Obama will compete in states carried by President Bush in 2004 and will also focus on New Hampshire.

The statement comes on the eve of two-days of campaign events by the Obama campaign.

On Thursday, Michelle Obama will be in Manchester and on Friday, Barack Obama will be joined by U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton for an event in Unity.
