CONCORD- Congressional candidate Grant Bosse (R-Hillsboro) received at $400 haircut at a Concord hair salon.

The coiffure was part of a fundraiser conducted by Hair Biz for the Autism Society of New Hampshire. The fundraiser started when the owner of Hair Biz, David Holden, told former U.S. Sen. John Edwards (D-N.C.) that Holden would give Edwards a $400 haircut and donate the money to charity. While running for president, Edwards received a now infamous $400 haircut from a Hollywood hair stylist.

During the New Hampshire primary, Holden's business became a must-stop for presidential candidates and has since expanded the effort to included congressional candidates and any individual who wishes to donate money to charity.

"I guarantee this will be the only time I'm compared to John Edwards, we don't share a lot of policies" joked Bosse.

Bosse also said the event allows candidates to "shine a spotlight on a good cause" and said he wishes his congressional rivals also participate in the fundraiser. So far this cycle, only Bosse and Jennifer Horn (R-Nashua) has stopped by for a haircut.

"None of these groups endorse political candidates but that doesn't mean political candidates can't endorse the causes," Bosse said.

Bosse gave Holden a giant yellow check and signed a campaign sign "let's beat autism."

The event was part of a day long trip PolitickerNH.com took with Bosse.

Bosse is running in the 2nd Congressional District Republican primary against Horn, Jim Steiner (R-Concord) and Bob Clegg (R-Hudson).
