Rauh: Unity example of party unity

DENVER-A prominent supporter of U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) thinks the event in Unity, New Hampshire should be an example for party unity across the country.

Mary Rauh, chair of the Women's Fund of New Hampshire, said the June event with Obama and U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY), demonstrated the ability of their presidential supporters to come together.

"All the delegates from Obama, Clinton and Edwards went to Unity together in a bus from Concord," Rauh said. "Afterwards we got to talk to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, and I feel really good about what happened."

Rauh, who attended a caucus for issues affecting senior citizens, said that electing former Gov. Jeanne Shaheen (D-Madbury) to the U.S. Senate is critical to protecting Social Security.

"It's really clear that we have to have a majority in the U.S. Senate to deal with the issues like Social Security," she said.
