DENVER -- Hours before Barack Obama accepts the Democratic presidential nomination, state Sen. Kathy Sgambati (D-Tilton) said she knew Obama would someday run for higher elective office when she saw him deliver the keynote speech at the 2004 convention but she didn't think it would be so soon.
"I wasn't sure it'd be four years later, but clearly I thought he was articulate and he'd be a force in the future," Sgambati told PolitickerNH.com.
Sgambati said com that she attended the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston because former Gov. Jeanne Shaheen (D-Madbury) was the master of ceremonies.
The Tilton Democrat, who endorsed U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton in the primary, said her favorite moment so far has been Clinton's speech on Tuesday.
"I thought it was a wonderful and moving speech. It was about the issues and people she cared about and not about herself," Sgambati said. "Her call was to remember the issues she fought for."
