Buckley stresses speaker diversity

DENVER--Being a delegate from New Hampshire did have its advantages this year. Invitation-only parties, free breakfast, gifts galore and hearing speeches from prominent Democratic leaders.

New Hampshire Democratic Party Chairman Ray Buckley said he was amazed by the diversity of the speakers that spoke before the delegation.

"Think about the diversity of our speakers. The Hispanic mayor of Los Angeles, the governor of Iowa, the female governor of Arizona, the majority whip/senator from Illinois, the congressman from Texas," Buckley said."That is amazing!"

This week delegates heard from Mayor Antonio Villagarosa, Gov. Chet Culver, Gov. Janet Napolitano, U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin and U.S. Rep. Chet Edwards.

Buckley credited the party's political director with arranging the speakers.

"Michael did a great job obtaining the diverse and talented leaders for our delegation events."
