ST. PAUL, Minn. - Former Gov. Mitt Romney is scheduled to hold a fundraiser for U.S. Sen. John Sununu at the end of September, PolitickerMA.com has learned.

The fundraiser will be held in Boston on Sept. 22, according to Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom.

Sununu (R-N.H.) is currently locked in a tight re-election race with former Democratic Gov. Jeanne Shaheen. Politicker.com's Pindell Report ranks the race as the sixth most competitive Senate contest in the nation.

Since losing the Republican nomination to U.S. Sen. John McCain (Ariz.), Romney has used his PAC to fundraise for several Republican candidates around the country. He has also attended several fundraisers during his time in St. Paul during the Republican National Convention this week.
