Sanborn looking forward to a positive, substantive general election race

Coming off his win in the state Senate District 7 Republican primary, Andy Sanborn said he is looking forward to a general election race against state Sen. Harold Janeway that he said will focus on the issues.

Sanborn (R-Loudoun) described Janeway (D-Webster) as a "nice guy" and said that the general election race won't "go down in the gutter" the way his primary race against Larry Elliott (R-Antrim) did.

"I am obviously really excited about our win tonight," Sanborn said. "It proves that you can have a positive, above board campaign."

Sanborn said that he believes his race against Janeway will be sustentative.

"We really have some fundamental differences on the issues," Sanborn said.

Sanborn said he stands for making government smaller while Janeway "believes in taxes, taxes, taxes."

Janeway, Sanborn said, "voted for every single one of the 22 new taxes that the government instituted in the last cycle."

"People can't afford a government that continues to grow like that," Sanborn added.
