Chesley says Horn campaign focused on identifying voters

Identifying grassroots activists is how Jennifer Horn (R-Nashua) was able to win the Republican nomination in the 2nd Congressional District, her campaign manager said.

David Chesley, her manager for the past few months, said that the campaign focused on identifying their voters and making sure they showed up to the polls last Tuesday.

"The keys to victory were that Jennifer had the strongest message and the most experience and took that message directly to the voters that showed up on Tuesday," Chesley told PolitickerNH.com. "The campaign had been contacting the voters who knew they were voting since May and that made the difference because we knew which voters to call and get out to the polls and which do not."

Horn won a five-way Republican primary on Tuesday and will now face U.S. Rep. Paul Hodes (D-Concord) in the general election.

Chesley said the Horn campaign will continue to promote of message of reform and bringing change to Washington.

"The message stays the same," he said. "The message that Jennifer been talking about, that she believes in, is the same message that won last Tuesday and is the same message that's going to beat Paul Hodes in November."
