A second Dem state rep. endorses McCain

A second New Hampshire Democratic state representative has endorsed the presidential campaign of Republican John McCain.

State Rep. Hector Velez (D-Manchester) cited McCain's experience has the reason why he is endorsing the Arizona lawmaker.

"Hillary Clinton won 18 million votes in the Democratic primaries in large part because of her experience and judgment. That is the same reason why many lifelong Democrats and former Clinton supporters like myself are now supporting John McCain," said Velez in a statement. "Nothing has changed since Joe Biden said Barack Obama is not ready to be president. John McCain is. His experience, judgment and commitment to reform is just what Washington needs."

Last week Doreen Howard (D-Newmarket) endorsed McCain. Both Howard and Velez supported U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) during the New Hampshire primary.
