Legislature passes heating assistance

CONCORD—Following in the House footsteps, the New Hampshire state senate passed legislation that will increase money for home heating assistance.

The House passed the bill 321 to 12 and the Senate passed the bill unanimously.

“It’s makes good sense; it’s in the public interest and in a bi-partisan manner,” state Sen. Lou D’Allesandro (D-Manchester) said.

Despite questions about the bill’s funding the bill was able to sail through both chambers of the New Hampshire legislature.
