Rasmussen: McCain, Sununu leading in N.H.

Rasmussen polls show U.S. Sen. John McCain and U.S. Sen. John Sununu (R-Waterville Valley) leading their opponents in the Granite State.

In the presidential poll McCain is beating U.S. Sen. Barack Obama 49 percent to 47 percent. While in the poll for the U.S. Senate campaign Sununu holds a seven-point lead over former Gov. Jeanne Shaheen (D-Madbury). Sununu is beating Shaheen 52 percent to 45 percent, the first poll that has Sununu above 50 percent.

"McCain is now viewed favorably by 60% of New Hampshire voters, Obama by 54%," the poll concludes. "Those figures reflect a three-point improvement for McCain and a single-point decline for Obama."

In the senate race Rasmussen finds that, "Ninety-three percent (93%) of Republicans and 10% of Democrats now support Sununu. Ninety percent (90%) of Democrats and six percent (6%) of GOP voters are backing Shaheen."
