D’Allesandro says N.H. voters ‘know’ Biden

MANCHESTER--A Manchester state senator said that Joe Biden's trip to New Hampshire showed the campaign's commitment to the critical battleground state.

State Sen. Lou D'Allesandro (D-Manchester), who has been friends with Biden since the 1980s, said that Biden is a candidate that resonates in the Granite State.

"I think it's terrific he's here. He's a very astute politician and someone who knows New Hampshire voters and New Hampshire voters know him," D'Allesandro told PolitickerNH.com.

When asked to compare Biden's trip to the upcoming trip of Gov. Sarah Palin, D'Allesandro said that people would attend her events because "they're looking to see something different" and joked that "she's had more airtime on Saturday Night Live than anybody else."

D'Allesando also said that he thought Obama's campaign in New Hampshire is on its way to victory in November.

"Campaign is going very well," D'Allesando said. "It's very well staffed and very well disciplined."

He added, "It's a terrific opportunity for the Democrats to do well."
