Biden hoping for Red Sox-Phillies series

MANCHESTER--In the heart of Red Sox Nation Democratic vice-presidential nominee Joe Biden admitted that he is a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies.

"I know you guys have concerns and that's what the matter with Josh Beckett's arm," Biden joked.

Biden added, "I'm hoping for a Red Sox-Phillies World Series."

The Delaware Senator emphasized New Hampshire's economic statistics in his stump speech.

"He's [John McCain] spent a lot of time in New Hampshire, he even calls New Hampshire his second home but the problem is that in the last quarter New Hampshire has lost 1,004 jobs," Biden told 900 people at Southern New Hampshire University.

Biden also said that under U.S. Sen. Barack Obama's economic plan 800,000 Granite State residents would get a tax cut.

Biden argued that John McCain would continue the policies of President Bush and has not proposed any new ideas.

"Governor PalinĀ  said she was two when I was elected to the United States Senate. That's true I was 29," Biden said. ""I wanted to turn and say was yes Governor Palin but you were in the sixth grade the last time John McCain had a new idea."

Palin is scheduled to campaign in New Hampshire on Wednesday. She will be attending events in Dover, Salem and Laconia.
