Jeb Bradley (R-Wolfeboro) announced a seven point plan that he says would benefit veterans.

Bradley's plan includes:

- change the POW/MIW designation

- create a full service hospital in the state

- establish a veterans health care card

- fund veteran health care programs

- create outpatient clinics for veteran

- give his full support to troops

"You can rest assure that the politics of this type of thing will never enter into my mind," Bradley said at a press conference. "I will support our troops 100 percent of the time with the resources and the pay and the benefits they need, you don't have to question that with Jeb Bradley. I know that all of you it and I know that the veterans in our state knows it."

Paul Chevalier, past commander of the New Hampshire VFW, said that the state's VFW leadership is supporting Bradley's congressional campaign.

"There's a lot of talk going around about an endorsement that Jeb got from one of the national veterans organizations, and I want to tell you that the leadership from the VFW, past commanders from the VFW, are here today that signed a letter requesting that we endorsed Jeb and not Carol Shea-Porter," Chevalier said. "I just wanted to make that clear."

Last week the national VFW political action committee announced that it was endorsing U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter's campaign. Chevalier said that the letter from the New Hampshire VFW leadership urging the national VFW to endorse Bradley and not Shea-Porter was lost in the mail.

State Rep. Al Baldasaro (R-Londonderry) also spoke at the event and said veterans were being used as "election pawns" because Shea-Porter's bill to establish a full service veteran's hospital in New Hampshire originated from task force chaired by state Sen. Joe Kenney (R-Wakefield).

"I'm here to tell you that I'm tired of being used has a pawn, an election pawn, by Carol Shea-Porter and all veterans in this state," Baldasaro said. "She's taking credit for something she had nothing to do with."

Update: "The VFW-PAC endorsement speaks for itself," said campaign spokeswoman Jamie Radice. "Congresswoman Shea-Porter would never accuse someone of not supporting the troops because they have policy differences with her.  It's unfortunate that Mr. Bradley does not hold himself to the same standard. A seven point plan is nice but what our veterans and military families want to see is action and results."
