The mailer highlights the 2004 arrest of state Rep. Stephen Spratt (D-Greenville), during which, according to an indictment, Spratt swore at and threatened men who were working next door to his house.

One side of the mailer has the quote "Do You Have A F%#$&*! Problem" a quote that Spratt when he confronted the workers, the indictment that says.

The opposite side shows pictures of a Nashua Telegraph article and the indictment with the words, "Because Temperament & Judgment Matters."

"People who have seen me at the Statehouse know that confrontation is not my style at all,'' Spratt told the Nashua Telegraph, which first reported on the mailer this past weekend.

Spratt also denied using the expletive and threatening the men.

In 2005 the indictment was dropped, but Spratt could still be charged in the future.

Spratt is running against current state Sen. Peter Bragdon (R-Milford) in State Senate District 11.

UPDATE: "The postcard is completely misleading at best, and I call on Peter Bragdon to renounce the tactics of the New Hampshire Republicans," Spratt said in a press release. "The mailer, using the same tactics of fear and slander we have seen for so long from the Bush administration, cites accusations long ago proven false. It is nothing new."
