Sununu’s PAC gives helping hand to state senate candidates

U.S. Sen. John Sununu (R-Waterville Valley) has been using his political action committee to bolster down-ballot candidates.

Sununu's Daniel Webster PAC reported that it distributed $46,000 to various campaigns and ended the period with $49,673 cash on hand. The PAC also reported that it raised $60,500.

FEC filings show that Sununu's Daniel Webster PAC gave $1,000 contributions to the state senate campaigns of Christian Callahan (R-Portsmouth), Doug Kruse (R-Manchester), Tom Eaton (R-Keene), Sharon Carson (R-Londonderry), Greg Knytych (R-Laconia), John Gallus (R-Berlin), Lee Quandt (R-Exeter), Paul LaFlamme (R-Nashua), Sandra Ziehm (R-Nashua) and Ted Gatsas (R-Manchester).

Sununu also gave a $1,000 donation to state Rep. Gene Chandler's election committee, $2,500 to Jennifer Horn's campaign, $5,000 to the House Republican Victory PAC, $2,500 to the New Hampshire Republican Liberty PAC and $1,000 to Ray Wieczorek's Executive Council campaign.

Sununu's PAC received a $5,000 donation from News Corp Chairman Rupert Murdoch. The political action committees of Blue Cross, Metlife, Wachovia, FedEx, and the Mortgage Bankers Association of America all contributed money to Sununu's PAC.
