WMUR poll shows Dems leading

A newly released WMUR/UNH poll has the Democratic candidate leading their Republican rivals in all major races in the Granite State.

In the presidential contest, Barack Obama is leading John McCain 55 percent to 39 percent, while in the U.S. Senate race, former Gov. Jeanne Shaheen (D-Madbury) is beating U.S. Sen. John Sununu (R-Waterville Valley) 49 percent to 38 percent.

In the 1st Congressional District, U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-Rochester) holds an eight-point lead over former U.S. Rep. Jeb Bradley (R-Wolfeboro) with Shea-Porter at 48 percent and Bradley at 40 percent. In the 2nd Congressional District, U.S. Rep. Paul Hodes (D-Concord) comes in with 48 percent of the vote and Jennifer Horn (R-Nashua) has 26 percent.

WMUR/UNH will unveil the tracking poll everyday between now and Election Day.
