AP poll shows Democratic trend

An Associated Press poll has good news for Barack Obama and Jeanne Shaheen (D-Madbury). The poll shows Obama with an 18 point lead over John McCain, while Shaheen has a six-point lead over U.S. Sen. John Sununu (R-Waterville Valley).

Obama leads McCain 55 percent to 37 percent and Shaheen is beating Sununu 47 percent to 41 percent.

The poll concludes that among likely independent voters, Obama garners 53 percent and McCain has 35 percent.

Yesterday, a UNH/WMUR tracking poll had Obama with a 25 point lead over McCain and Shaheen with a 14 point lead over Sununu.

Also in the poll, Gov. John Lynch (D-Hopkinton) is leading state Sen. Joe Kenney (R-Wakefield) 73 percent to 17 percent.
