Sununu says Stevens should resign

U.S. Sen. John Sununu (R-Waterville Valley) thinks embattled U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) should resign.

"I believe it would be in the best interest of the Senate and the nation for Senator Stevens to step down," Sununu said in a statement to PolitickerNH.com.

Stevens was convicted earlier this week on charges relating to gifts he received from an oil contractor.
