Romney stumps for N.H. GOP candidates

MANCHESTER-- Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney campaigned at a local business for various Republican candidates.

The Republican presidential primary runner-up talked to workers at Oven Poppers about the importance of electing Doug Kruse (R-Manchester) to the state senate and former U.S. Rep. Jeb Bradley (R-Wolfeboro) to the U.S. House.

"I know Jeb Bradley very well on a personal basis, we're neighbors, we've marched together in parades and I've also seen him work in congress and recognize that in Jeb Bradley you have someone who knows how to create jobs," Romney told reporters.

When asked if he thought if he would have been able to have of an impact on the national stage Romney said, "I don't look back I look forward, I lost fair and square to Senator McCain, he's a good man. I sure hope he wins the national election, I think he will, I think he will surprise a lot of people."

Kruse said that his opponent, current state Sen. Betsi DeVries (D-Manchester), has helped increase state spending.

"What we've seen in Concord is they've gone on a spending spree with Betsi DeVries leading the charge," Kruse told workers.

After visiting Oven Poppers Kruse, Romney and Bradley went to the restaurant C.J's, where U.S. Sen. Judd Gregg (R-Rye) joined the group and met voters. Later in the day, Romney is scheduled to campaign with 2nd Congressional District candidate Jennifer Horn (R-Nashua) in Litchfield and attend a fundraiser for Kruse and state Sen. Bob Letourneau (R-Derry).
