Bradley not paying attention to the polls

MANCHESTER--Former U.S. Rep. Jeb Bradley (R-Wolfeboro) said the only poll that matters is the one on Election Day.

Bradley said he learned this lesson in 2006 when polls showed him leading over current U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-Rochester).

"You know what, I was ahead two years ago and look what happened, so the only poll that matters is the one that happens on Election Day," Bradley said. "We're going as hard as we can to get out our message."

Bradley made the comments today after visiting Over Poppers business with Mitt Romney and Doug Kruse.

Bradley also responded to claims that he is running a negative campaign.

"Have you been checking your mailbox recently? I mean really every time I turn on the TV there's another Carol Shea-Porter ad or Democratic committee ad attacking me. I can't go to the mailbox without seeing mail pieces attacking me," he said.

Bradley said his campaign has been highlighting issues and Shea-Porter's voting record.

When asked what he will be doing over the next couple of days that he did not do in 2006, Bradley said, "We are going as hard as we can to get out the vote and get people to the polls. Now that the debates are over it's a sprint to the finish."
