Poll shows tightening presidential race

According to a Concord Monitor poll, Barack Obama is now leading John McCain by only five points in the Granite State.

The poll has Obama beating McCain 48 percent to 43 percent.  Yesterday, the same poll showed Obama with a seven point lead over McCain.

In the U.S. Senate race, former Gov. Jeanne Shaheen (D-Madbury) is leading current U.S. Sen. John Sununu (R-Waterville Valley) 48 percent to 39 percent.

In the 1st Congressional District, U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-Rochester) is beating former U.S. Rep. Jeb Bradley(R-Wolfeboro) 43 percent to 37 percent and in the 2nd Congressional District U.S. Rep. Paul Hodes (D-Concord) is leading Jennifer Horn (R-Nashua) 49 percent to 34 percent.
