Hassan to be Senate Majority Leader

The Democratic caucus has nominated several state senators to fill key posts in the upper-chamber.

Senate President Sylvia Larsen (D-Concord) was re-nominated to be senate president by state Sen. Lou D'Allesandro (D-Manchester).

Larsen then nominated state Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-Exeter) to be senate majority leader and state Sen. Martha Fuller Clark (D-Portsmouth) to fill the post of president pro tem.

State Sen. Kathy Sgambati (D-Tilton) was named deputy majority leader and Deb Reynolds (D-Plymouth) will be the majority whip.

The leadership will be officially installed when the state senators are sworn-in on December 3rd.

Last week, PolitickerNH.com's Wally Edge reported that either Hassan or Fuller Clark would be named majority leader.
