Backus concedes to Gatsas

In 2006 Bob Backus (D-Manchester) came 314 votes away from defeating state Sen. Ted Gatsas (R-Manchester). Two years later, Backus has again conceded to Gatsas in the senate district 16 race.

This year Backus lost to Gatsas by over 3,000 votes.

"I've called Sen. Gatsas to congratulate him on both his campaign and his re-election.  This has been an amazing election year and I have been honored to campaign across District 16," Backus said in a press release. "I could not be prouder of the campaign that we've run.  We've burned the midnight oil, knocked on thousands of doors and made countless phone calls."
