Hodes beats Horn in CD-2

U.S Rep. Paul Hodes (D-Concord) is projected to win re-election against political newcomer Jennifer Horn (R-Nashua).

"It's all about people like Ann Marie Morrissey," Hodes said.

Morrissey was featured in Hodes' campaign commercials for helping to push a law that makes insurance companies cover college students who become sick. Morrissey's daughter was a student at Plymouth State University but become diagnosed with cancer and her insurance company dropped Morrissey's coverage because she was no longer a full-time student.

Hodes added, "I will bring down to Washington, my optimism, my idealism and my creativity."

Horn's name is often mentioned as a possible contender for future political office, though Horn told WMUR that she "is not sure what the future holds."

"This may be the first step but it's a giant step and that's what this is all about," Horn told supporters in Nashua.
