Shea-Porter tells supporters she’ll work ‘for rest of us’

U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-Rochester) told supporters in an e-mail that she has already met with congressional staff to lay-out her legislative agenda for the next session.

Shea-Porter was elected to a second term when she defeated former U.S. Rep. Jeb Bradley (R-Wolfeboro) on Election Day.

"In addition to my work here this week, I have already gone to Washington and met with my staff there to create an agenda that reflects the needs and the voices of the people," Shea-Porter wrote. "As Congress prepares for its new session, I am full of optimism and hope for our beloved country. I know the road will be difficult and that so many are suffering, but I also know that America is a great nation with strong, hard-working, good people. We will succeed!"

Shea-Porter also said that she will continue working "for the rest of us" in Washington, D.C.

During her re-election campaign Shea-Porter often said that she was "fighting for the bottom 99 percent."
