House prepares for 134 new members

The New Hampshire House of Representatives has put together the final schedule for a three-day orientation process to welcome 134 new members to the lower-chamber.

The new members begin orientation on November 18 and will listen to rules about lobbyists, committee responsibilities and how to introduce a bill.

Orientation is critical for new members because on December 3 they will take part in Organization Day which is when they elect a speaker of the house, sergeant-at-arms and House clerk. Afterwards they will enter a joint session with the state Senate where they will elect a secretary of state and state treasurer.
