Infantine considering challenging Shea-Porter

State Rep. Will Infantine (R-Manchester) said that he will decide within the two or three months whether or not he will run for congress in 2010.

"We're not even in 2009, and we're only 30 days post-election," Infantine said in an interview with PolitickerNH.com. "There's a lot of discussions that need to be had with certain people, with family and business obligations."

The Union Leader reported this past weekend that Infantine is considering challenging U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter in 2010.

Infantine said that he disagrees with Shea-Porter's views on the economy and that she is out of step with voters of the 1st Congressional District.

"As a voter and taxpayer in the 1st Congressional District, I just do not belief in Carol Shea-Porter's core principles are consistent with the people," Infantine said. "Now given she's been elected twice, so that might be an arrogant statement, but I think that there's a lot of things that went on in the last two elections that were anomalies and that 2010 will be a good year and a swing back year for Republicans."

Infantine, who is also the chairman of the Manchester Republican Committee, said that he had a meeting yesterday with various supporters to discuss a potential congressional candidacy.
