Losing Arnie Arnesen's "Political Chowder" Is A Blow To The Discussion

Arnie Arnesen is going on hiatus with her weekly televised Poitical Chowder talk show.  What a blow losing our weekly political discussion and critical thinking from an incredible woman who would have been a great Governor.

But her final show was filled with class as she took John Dad Sununu, the new chair of the New Hampshire Republican Party, way off his message -- if he had one -- in the first half hour.  If Sununu went onto her show with the intent of converting new Republicans, or shoring up the traditional ones, Arnie made sure he failed.

Many of us will miss our weekly bowl of Chowder.  It's not the way I wanted to begin my Spring diet.  But maybe we'll get Arnie back in another way.  She'd sure be a great candidate for any of a number of things.

Plug pulled on Arnesen’s radio show

The political radio show Chowder in the Morning has been cancelled by 1110 WCCM.

The host, Arnie Arnesen, emailed listeners to notify them about the cancellation.

"Given the imploding economy, the dramatic drop in advertising dollars and, perhaps, a less than enthusiastic commitment to radio that attempts to educate and entertain, I regret to inform you that Chowder in the Morning will not be around to serve up a salty bowl of politics, policy, pundits and people every weekday morning," Arnesen wrote.

Sunday morning shows

This morning the Sunday morning talk shows were filled with discussions about the looming state budget deficit.

On WMUR's Close Up, the panel discussed the spending cap being purposed by the New Hampshire Advantage Coalition.

"I'm effectively a spending cap in Manchester," Mayor Frank Guinta (R-Manchester) said. "Because this is community based, I think it's been effective."
