Police arrest man in duck outfit

Before the U.S. Senate debate in Manchester, police arrested a man dressed in a duck costume outside the WMUR television studio.

UPDATE: WMUR reported that the man arrested is Jody Gale and has been released by Manchester police.

Ryan released on bail

Former state Rep. Jim Ryan (D-Franklin) has been released from prison on bail, The Conway Daily Sun reports.

Ryan was bailed out by Jim Craig, a Manchester lawyer and former House Minority Leader.

"I've been practicing for 25 years, this is the first time I bailed anyone out," Craig told a clerk at Carroll County Superior Court.

Ryan was jailed in late August for failure to pay the court $9,000 from charges relating to a forgery case.

Updated: NH GOP goes after Spratt with mailer

The mailer highlights the 2004 arrest of state Rep. Stephen Spratt (D-Greenville), during which, according to an indictment, Spratt swore at and threatened men who were working next door to his house.

Ryan to resign

State Rep. Jim Ryan (D-Franklin) says that he will resign his position and not seek re-election in November.

Ryan, who has been jailed for charges relating to a forgery case, told The Citizen he sent a letter of resignation to House Speaker Terie Norelli.

Biden N.H. chair arrested

The New Hampshire campaign chairman of U.S. Sen. Joe Biden's presidential campaign has been arrested for violating terms of a court order, The Citizen is reporting.

State Rep. Jim Ryan (D-Franklin), who chaired Biden's campaign during the New Hampshire primary, was arrested Tuesday and is currently being held in lieu of $9,675 cash-only bail.
