Sununu will be 'benevolent dictator' as party chair

LACONIA--Former Gov. John H. Sununu told Belknap County Republicans that Granite State Republicans must unite if they want to win in 2010.

"We have to come together. We are not entitled to fractions within the party," Sununu said Wednesday night. "Personality problems, philosophical differences within the party, we have to come together."

Sununu, who is running to be the next state Republican Party chair, spoke before the Belknap County Republican caucus before they elected members to the state Republican committee.

Meredith is a must win in GOP SD-2 primary

The town of Meredith will be the key to victory for either of the two Republicans fighting to unseat state Sen. Deb Reynolds (D-Plymouth), according to well-known Republican consultant.

State reps. William Tobin (R-Sanbornton) and Vernon Dingman (R-Haverhill) are competing against one another in state Senate District 2.

Johnson endorses Kenney

Former state Sen. Carl Johnson (R-Meredith) has endorsed gubernatorial candidate Joe Kenney (R-Wakefield).

 "I am proud to have the endorsement of Senator Johnson. He is a great american and a fellow veteran and I know he has a lot of supporters here in his district. When I served with Carl Johnson I could count on him for conservative votes and someone who stood up for New Hampshire.
