Coalition forms for ‘limited gaming’ at Rock

CONCORD--A coalition titled "Fix it Now" has formed to bring "limited gaming" to Rockingham Park.

The group said that they want to bring video slot machines to the Salem track.

Clegg endorsed by 60 current, former legislators

State Sen. Bob Clegg (R-Hudson) has been endorsed by 60 current and former state legislators.

The legislators will form Clegg's "Legislative Leadership Team," for his congressional candidacy.

The list includes state Senators and state representatives, some of which are not even in Clegg's Congressional district.

Stephen officially declares candidacy for Congress

MANCHESTER- After a day long bus tour of the 1st congressional district, Republican candidate John Stephen officially began his campaign at gathering in Manchester.

"It's time for change and it's time for new blood, new leadership and fresh ideas," Stephen told 275 supporters. "That's why, today, I am announcing my candidacy for Congress."

Prescott to run for Executive Council seat again

CONCORD -- Former state Sen. Russell Prescott (R-Kingston) will take a second shot at Executive Council this year, but he still remains unsure as to whether he will face a primary.

In an interview Prescott said that he has the support of both his primary opponents from 2006 for his run this time. In 2004, the Executive Council seat in District Three was vacated by longtime incumbent Ruth Griffin. Former state Sen. Chuck Morse (R-Salem) emerged as the nominee in the three way Republican primary, but was defeated by former Senate President Bev Hollingworth (D-Hampton).

Morse not running for governor

The Union Leader is reporting that former Salem State Senator Chuck Morse has decided not to run for governor.

"The reality of the whole situation is catching up with me. I'm finding it difficult to get away from my business. It's not working. I don't' believe I can run and pay enough attention to my business," Morse said.

Clegg names leadership team

State Senator Bob Clegg (R-Hudson) announced the leadership team for his Congressional campaign.

"I look forward to us working together to bring New Hampshire values to Washington. This team includes Republicans, Democrats, Independents and people of many different industries and talents," Clegg said in a statement.

This list includes State Senators Mike Downing, Ted Gatsas, Bob Odell and John Gallus. Former Berlin mayor Bob Danderson and former State Director for Charlie Bass, Neil Levesque, are on the team.

Keough appears to pass on run for governor

It appears that former State Senator Bruce Keough will take another pass at running for governor.

Keough (R-Dublin) told The Concord Monitor this morning that he is "unlikely" to run for governor.

"It's very unlikely that I'll run for governor, very unlikely," he told the paper.
