Staff changes at NHDP

The New Hampshire Democratic Party has announced that David Scannell is leaving as the party's executive director.

"David brought his extensive talents to the party and proved his leadership skills with the historic results of November 4th" NHDP chairman Ray Buckley said in a press release.  "The party is grateful for David's willingness to take on the grueling job of 80 hour work weeks in a high pressured environment. David deserves great credit for our 2008 successes; he was a leader in the team that made history."

Scannell named NH Dems ED

The New Hampshire Democratic Party has named David Scannell their new Executive Director.

Scannell recently was the center of controversy when Manchester Mayor Frank Guinta said he should resign from the School Department because Scannell voted in favor of a bill that would have decriminalized marijuana.

Scannell asked to resign over pot vote

Manchester Mayor Frank Guinta has asked State Rep. David Scannell (D-Manchester) to resign from his position as spokesman for the Manchester School District.

Guinta wants Scannell to resign because Scannell voted in favor a House bill that would decriminalize small amounts of marijuana.
