Last night I was on Rachel Maddow's show on MSNBC at the top of the hour. But before I came on, through the earpiece I listened to the five minutes that Rachel sketched as a lead-in. Most of it was videotape from the last few days of former Vice President Dick Cheney extolling the virtues of harsh interrogation, torture, and his leadership.

Hodes, Shea-Porter split over gun ruling

U.S. Rep. Paul Hodes (D-Concord) and U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-Rochester) have split over the U.S. Supreme Court ruling allowing individuals to own handguns.

Shea-Porter said there should be "some standards" with individual gun rights, while Hodes called the decision a "victory" for the Second Amendment.

Democrats approve impeachment resolution

MANCHESTER -- At their annual state convention Democrats approved a resolution asking Congress to begin impeachment procedures against President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney.

The resolution, offered by the Newbury Democratic Committee, had very little debate at the state party convention, but several activists worked the crowd throughout the day and said they expected some controversy.

Hearing set for impeachment bill

A public hearing has been scheduled for a bill that calls for the impeachment of President Bush and Vice-President Cheney.

The bill, purposed by State Representative Betty Hall (D-Brookline), would encourage New Hampshire Congressional delegation to take steps towards the removal of Bush and Cheney.

Hall's bill argues that Bush has tampered with voting rights, violated Constitutional rights of Americans, engaged in an illegal pre-emptive war and has illegally easdropped on citizens.
