2009 rising Republican stars

Although 2008 saw the fall of several Republican heavyweights, it also gave birth to a group of Republicans who will shape the party, and New Hampshire, in 2009.

Below you will find a list of the top ten Republicans to watch for in the upcoming year.

10) Erin Hass: A former State Senate staffer, Hass has developed an impressive Rolodex and will be doing policy work for the Dennehy Group during the upcoming legislative session.

Rockingham GOP elects State Committee members

It took almost two hours Thursday night for the Rockingham County Republicans to elect 77 members to the Republican State Committee.

Over the past two weeks, Republican county committees having been meeting to elect people who will vote next month to determine who will become the next chairman of the New Hampshire Republican Party. Currently only former Gov. John H. Sununu is running for chairman.

Packard announces House GOP leadership

House Republican leader state Rep. Sherman Packard (R-Londonderry) has announced his leadership team for the upcoming legislative session.

Packard has decided to keep state Rep. David Hess (R-Hooksett) as the deputy republican leader. State Rep. Shawn Jasper (R-Hudson) will be the Republican whip and state Rep. Andrew Renzullo (R-Hudson) will be the deputy Republican whip. State Rep. Gene Chandler (R-Bartlett), who ran against Packard for House Republican leader, has been tapped to be the senior assistant Republican leader.
