Fire fighters union endorses Gatsas

MANCHESTER-- The Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire have endorsed state Sen. Ted Gatsas (R-Manchester) re-election campaign.

In 2006, the group endorsed Gatsas' current opponent Bob Backus (R-Manchester). Gatsas and Backus are competing for the state senate district 16 seat.

Head of IAFF discusses Dodd endorsement, spending caps and Shaheen support

Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) during the primary did not affect the group's reputation.

"Our reputation is based on loyalty, we don't treat our endorsement like a race track," IAFF General President Harold Schaitberger said in an interview with PolitickerNH.com.

Horn touts Coburn’s endorsement

Former gubernatorial candidate Jim Coburn (R-Windham) has endorsed congressional candidate Jennifer Horn (R-Nashua).

Coburn will serve as a campaign co-chair and advisor to the Horn campaign.

GraniteGrok endorses Bosse

The conservative website GraniteGrok has endorsed Grant Bosse (R-Hillsboro) in the 2nd Congressional District Republican primary.

"We ask our readers who live in NH's Congressional District to give Grant a very close look. If you feel that government should supply your every (or even most) need, he's not your guy," wrote Republican activist Skip Murphy.

Fire Fighters endorse Shaheen

The Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire have decided to endorse former Gov. Jeanne Shaheen's (D-Madbury) senatorial candidacy.

The endorsement will be made official tomorrow in Manchester.

The union represents over 2,000 New Hampshire fire fighters and paramedics.

Shaheen is running for the U.S. Senate against U.S. Sen. John Sununu (R-Waterville Valley).

Update: Buckley endorses Obama

New Hampshire Democratic Party Chairman Ray Buckley has endorsed Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.).

Buckley will make the announcement in an editorial in tomorrow's Union Leader.

"I have chosen to support Senator Obama to bring finality to the process and allow the voters to begin their process of making their own choice in November," Buckley will write.
