Senate Dems to hold fundraiser

It has been only five weeks since the election, but the senate Democrats are already looking ahead to the 2010 election.

On December 16 the Democratic Senate Caucus will be holding a fundraiser at the Capitol Grille in Concord.

According to the latest state financial filings the caucus ended the election with a surplus of $14,667. During the election the senate Democrats raised $442,696.

Kenney to hold fundraiser with military analyst

Former gubernatorial candidate Joe Kenney is planning to hold a fundraiser to honor his 14 years in the state legislature.

Kenney, a former state senator, retired this year to mount an unsuccessful campaign against Gov. John Lynch (D-Hopkinton).

The fundraiser will feature military analyst Colonel David Hunt and will take place on December 11. The dinner cost is $35 and if you want to attend the VIP reception it will set you back $50.

Lynch, Hodes poke fun at Palin during fundraiser

MANCHESTER--Speaking at the annual Jefferson Jackson dinner both Gov. John Lynch (D-Hopkinton) and U.S. Rep. Paul Hodes (D-Concord) both began their speeches with jokes about Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

"I need to tell you something about Susan. Something that you should all know about Susan. Susan is a hockey mom," Lynch said. "Yup you bet ya."

Gregg to celebrate Bradley’s birthday

U. S. Sen. Judd Gregg (R-Rye) will be participating in a birthday celebration for former U.S. Rep. Jeb Bradley (R-Wolfeboro) on Oct. 20.

The birthday party is also being billed as a fundraiser for Bradley. The suggested donation is $250 per person.

The event will be taking place at C.R. Sparks Restaurant and Bar in Bedford.

In a rematch from 2006, Bradley is running against U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-Rochester) in the 1st Congressional District.

Dean to host fundraiser for Shea-Porter

During his trip to New Hampshire, Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean will participate in a fundraiser for U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter.

The fundraiser is set to take place on October 13 in Manchester at the home of Bill and Kathy Gillett. Earlier in the day Dean will visit Keene State College to encourage college students to register to vote.

Pawlenty ‘glad’ McCain attended debate

MANCHESTER-- Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R-Minn.) said that he was "glad" John McCain participated in the first presidential debate.

Days before the debate McCain suspended his campaign and said he would not attend the debate until a compromise was reached on a financial bailout package. McCain though announced Friday afternoon that he would attend the debate in Mississippi.

Pawlenty, who was often mentioned as a possible vice-presidential candidate, was in New Hampshire to attend a Republican unity dinner and presidential debate watch party.

NHYD’s to hold annual concert

The New Hampshire Young Democrats will be holding their annual John & Robert F. Kennedy Awards Concert on September 19.

Attending the event will be U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-Rochester) and U.S. Rep. Richard Neal (D-Mass.).

Also at the event former Portsmouth Mayor Steve Marchand will be roasted by several of his friends.

Frank to headline N.H. Dems fundraiser

A prominent Massachusetts Congressman will be crossing the border into New Hampshire in mid-October to help raise money for the New Hampshire Democratic Party.

U.S. Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) will be the keynote speaker at the annual Jefferson Jackson dinner being held on October 18.

Sanborn, Elliott points fingers at one another

CONCORD-- In a state senate primary that has been marked by investigations, rumors and reports of illegal campaign activity, both candidates say they are ready to move onto the general election.

Andy Sanborn (R-Henniker) and Larry Elliott (R-Antrim) are running against one another in the Republican primary in state district 7. The winner will face freshman state Sen. Harold Janeway (D-Webster) on Election Day.

Kruse to officially kick-off campaign

State Senate candidate Doug Kruse (R-Manchester) will officially launch his campaign on August 6th with a fundraiser.

The kick-off event and fundraiser with take place at Manchester's The Belmont Hall & Restaurant on Grove Street.

State Sen. Ted Gatsas (R-Manchester), state Rep., and Manchester Republican Chairman, Will Infantine (R-Manchester and Alderman Mike Garrity (R-Manchester) will serve as event co-chairs.
