Sgambati to hold charity event

State Sen. Kathy Sgambati (D-Tilton) will be sponsoring an event to help raise money for local food pantries and home heating assistance programs.

Sgambati is calling the event "Neighbor Helping Neighbor" and will take place on October 18 at Laconia's Opechee Park House.

Kenney says oil legislation should have been formed earlier

"I'm pleased that we're taking action but I think we should have taken action six months ago," Kenney told PolitickerNH.com after a bipartisan news conference at the State House.

Dems focus on McCain's LIHEAP votes

ROCHESTER-- Over the past two days, Democrats have been criticizing U.S. Sen. John McCain's (R-Ariz.) votes against increasing funding for a home heating assistance program.

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) provides funding to citizens who need help paying their home oil bills. Democrats say McCain has voted against increased funding five times.
