In a new campaign ad U.S. Sen. John Sununu (R-Waterville Valley) seeks to tie his opponent to President Bush.

The ad, titled "Remember," uses quotes from former Gov. Jeanne Shaheen (D-Madbury) in which she said she supported the war in Iraq and the Bush tax cuts.

"From the defining issues of his presidency Jeanne Shaheen spoke out," the announcer says.

Shaheen is then quoted as saying, "I'll stand with President Bush on national security, the war on terrorism and to disarm Saddam Hussein. I supported the Bush tax cut."

"As governor Jeanne Shaheen increased spending by a billion dollars, signed the first statewide property tax, and even agreed to sign a state income tax," the announcer says.

U.S. Sen. John Sununu (R-Waterville Valley) is calling for a national energy plan that would reduce historic energy prices.

Sununu said the plan should focus on conservation efforts, investing in renewable energy sources and increasing domestic production of oil.

"We absolutely have to take a balanced approach," Sununu said on a conference call with reporters. "We have to move away from ideology that says we can't do this or we can't do that and look at opportunities to reduce energy and find and produce more energy."

Jeanne Shaheen's (D-Madbury) senatorial campaign has hired a new press secretary.

Caitlin Legacki is taking over for Alex Reese.

Reese left the Shaeen campaign to do communications work for the New Hampshire Democratic Party's coordinated campaign.

During the Iowa caucuses, Legacki worked in the Edwards campaign press shop.

"We're thrilled to have her!," Kate Bedingfield, Shaheen communications director, said.
