All Hands In Lebanon: Vote For ANDY WHITE In Important Special Election This Tuesday!

A VERY important election is being held this Tuesday, June 2nd -- that's like "tomorrow" -- in Lebanon.  It's for a seat in the New Hampshire State Legislature.

We lost House Bill 73 by one vote two weeks ago.  This could be THE vote that will get it passed on Wednesday if our Democratic candidate wins and he can be sworn in on time!

Besides, he's a mighty good candidate.

His name is Andy White, and he's the Democratic candidate running against Republican Randy Wagoner.

Andy White has said he would have voted for House Bill 436, which has already passed the House and Senate and will be sent to Governor John Lynch shortly.

Announcing My Candidacy...

..for re-election to the Lebanon City Council!

Sorry for the teaser, but after yesterday's Union Leader mention, I couldn't help it... Despite rumors suggesting otherwise, the only race I am considering is my re-election to the Lebanon City Council on Tuesday, March 10th. Below is my "formal announcement." Blue Hampshire gets it first!

The November 2010 elections will undoubtedly be very exciting. In the meantime, I hope we will all remember that there are very important local elections coming up this spring. In Lebanon, not only will we be electing city councilors and school board members, but we'll also be voting (again) on a bond for a desperately-needed middle school as well as on the Fair Tax resolution.

NH-02: Kuster, Karen & Co.

JonnyBB wasn't kidding. And nice to see two Hamsters (at least) in the mix:Concord attorney Ann McLane Kuster confirmed she is "seriously considering" running. She didn't say so, but friends say it's unlikely she would run against Senate President Sylvia Larsen or Executive Councilor Debora Pignatelli, who are also weighing Senate and/or House options.

Concord state Rep. John DeJoie has also been making calls, and Nashua attorney Mike Atkins is being mentioned as a potential candidate, both for the House.

Others being recruited include former state Sen. Joe Foster, Lebanon Mayor Karen Liot Hill and Keene state Sen. Molly Kelly.

Liot Hill prepares to lead Lebanon

Karen Liot Hill is preparing to lead her first City Council meeting as Mayor.

Last week, the twenty-nine-year-old was elected to a year-one-term as Mayor of Lebanon.

"I think it's important for us to build a consensus around a common vision for Lebanon," Liot Hill said.

She cited a recent vote against updating the local building ordinance as an example of the need for all sides to reach a common ground.

Liot Hill elected Mayor of Lebanon

Last night, Karen Liot Hill was elected Mayor of Lebanon.

"It's exciting and daunting at the same time," Liot Hill said.

The vote count was unanimous. After Liot Hill received a majority, the other candidate threw her votes to Liot Hill.

Twenty-nine-year old Liot Hill was Jay Buckey's campaign manager before he quit his senatorial campaign.
