Mayberry still considering running for NH GOP chairman

Dover Republican activist Matt Mayberry said he is still thinking about running for New Hampshire Republican chairman, but added that his real estate business might stand in his way.

"I'm thinking about it, but I'm in an industry that requires all my attention," Mayberry said. "Real estate is not fun, so I don't know if I want to give up the time both personally and professionally to do this."

Mayberry is a realtor for Re/Max Reality Center.

Mayberry: Palin is a ‘fresh face’

DENVER--U.S. John McCain's Strafford County Chairman says that Gov. Sarah Palin (R-Alaska) will help lead a new generation of Republican leaders.

"She will be the leader of the next generation of Republican leaders," Matt Mayberry told PolitickerNH.com.

"I'm pretty excited about it," Mayberry said. "It's not a voice we've heard in the party before."

Mayberry added that Palin will appeal to the base of the Republican Party.

Clegg hires GOP activist

Dover Republican activist Matt Mayberry has been hired to help with grassroots organizing for Bob Clegg's congressional campaign.

During the New Hampshire primary, Mayberry served as Strafford County chairman of U.S. Sen. John McCain's (R-Ariz.) presidential campaign. Mayberry is also running for the state House from Dover.

Clegg, a state senator from Hudson is competing in the 2nd Congressional District primary against Jennifer Horn of Nashua, Grant Bosse of Hillsboro and Jim Steiner of Concord.

Republicans react to Maiola’s departure

New Hampshire Republicans are reacting to the news that Joel Maiola is leaving his position with Senator Judd Gregg.

Maiola announced today that he starting a consulting company called Granite Edge.

Republicans agree that Maiola has left a lasting impact on Granite State politics.

"Sen. Gregg has been one of the most successful politicians in the state and I expect that will continue to be the case in the future.  Joel has been a part of that team and I wish him the best," said Sean Mahoney, National Republican Committeeman.
