State begins recount process

CONCORD--The New Hampshire secretary of state has begun recounts in 18 different elections.

Over the next week the state will perform recounts in 16 state representative races, the state senate district 3 race and also the race for Sullivan County commissioner. Between today and November 21st a recount will take place every day. Today is the busiest day for recounts with 6 recounts taking place at the same time.

Deputy Secretary of State David Scanlan told PolitickerNH.com that having this many recounts is not unusual.

John McCain's New Hampshire campaign has sent out a last minute e-mail to recruit Republican candidates for local office.

The e-mail begins with "friends" and argues that candidates can "help bring about real reform."
